Beverly's Obituary

Beverly A. Evans, 81, of Berrien Springs, passed away, Monday, January 28, 2019 at Pine Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Stevensville. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 5, at Zion United Church of Christ, 9100 Church St., Baroda with Rev. David Moffett-Moore officiating.  Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Berrien Springs.  Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday, February 4 at Heritage Chapel, 8747 US 31, Berrien Springs.  Memorials in Beverly’s name may be made to Berrien County Youth Fair or Pine Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  Those wishing to sign Bev’s Memory Book online may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com. Bev was born August 4, 1937 in Negaunee, Michigan to Arthur & Violet (Dawe) Peterson.  She graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1955.  On November 5, 1955 she married Larry E. Evans in Baroda at Zion Church.  Bev helped her in-laws at Evans Grocery in Hinchman and her husband on the family farm-Larry Evans Farm in Berrien Springs. While raising her four sons, Bev served as a bus driver for Berrien Springs Public Schools, retiring in 1999 after thirty-one years.  She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Baroda, where she sang in the choir and was part of the Women’s Fellowship.  Bev was a long-time volunteer at the Berrien County Youth Fair where she could be found in the Home Economics Building, the Trophy Building or the Little League Concession Stand.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed trips to the casino, made wonderful memories on numerous family vacations, and cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grand & great-grandchildren. Bev is survived by her four sons-Rene (Cheryl) Evans of Stevensville, Dale (Pam) Evans of Berrien Springs, Brian (Suzanne) Evans of Berrien Springs, Don (Donna) Evans of Baroda; ten grandchildren-Leslie Pruitt, Christina (fiancé Bryson Riggenbach) Evans, Amanda (Matt) Orlando, Sarah (Elia) Kluge, Rob (Sarah) McCalebb, Dana (Kyle) Boehm, Kendra (Nick) Pantaleo, Keelee Evans, Adam (Tiffany) Evans & Katie (Ben) Walkowiak; ten great-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law-David, Gail & Vernon (Lucinda) Evans; and several nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Larry on February 29, 2008, three brothers-Les, Robert, Hank and her sister Pauline.
